The addition of Irish Footballer Lee J. Lynch to NSPL side FC Arizona has garnered international attention. The42.ie, an Irish site specializing in national and international sport, featured Lynch and FC Arizona in a recent article.
Lynch arrives in Arizona after three seasons with Limerick Football Club of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The article reports that Lynch originally left Ireland in an effort to play for the now defunct North American Soccer League (NASL), but found himself without a team after the league folded. His late decision to leave his home team put him behind, as many NASL players already had found spots on existing USL teams.
The 26 year-old describes FC Arizona owner Scott Taylor as “ambitious.” Describing Taylor’s plans to build a stadium and move the team to an NASL-level league, Lynch says he wants to be part of a team that “will make that step up.”

Whether or not Lynch is around long enough to see that happen will remain to be seen. He is later quoted saying, “My name will be in the market here and hopefully I will get looked at by a couple of clubs. Who knows what can happen over here?” but says “I’d definitely like to be here for the future.”
