    Player Ratings: Rio Grande Valley Toros FC

    $1 beer night remained undefeated as Phoenix downed Rio Grande Valley 3-1 thanks to a brace from Adam Jahn a long-range effort from James Musa.

    Here’s how you, the fans, though each Rising player performed.

    1. Adam Jahn (8.6)

    2 Goals, 1 Chance Created, 87% Passing Accuracy, 1 Goalkeeper Destroyed
    There was little doubt who would be atop the ratings this week. Jahn, who was named USL’s Player of Week, got the Beer Night crowd going early with a deft goal in the 16th that still confounds me. Of course, he decided to top that first goal with his second, a panenka from the penalty spot that had goalkeeper Michael Nelson, sprawling for air. Jahn’s performance might have been his best of the season, regardless of the goals, as he found himself much more involved in the offense than games past.

    2. Junior Flemmings (7.9)

    1 Assist, 2 Chances Created, 75% Passing Accuracy, 4 Fouls Won
    Flemmings provided the assist to Jahn’s first goal, a dangerous cross that found Adam’s shin. Flemmings has been consistently been one of the team’s biggest threats, especially with Solomon Asante out. Flemmings is now second on the team in goals, assists, shots on target, and third in chances created. Flemmings will look to continue on this run, which would lessen the loss of Jason Johnson just a little bit.

    3. (tie) Kevon Lambert, AJ. Cochran (7.7)

    Lambert: 10 Duels Won, 75% Passing Accuracy, 3 Recoveries
    Cochran: 78% Passing Accuracy, 5 Clearances, 6 Recoveries
    Both Lambert and Cochran continued their impressive seasons in the 3-1 win. Lambert, playing in a more advanced role with James Musa, was all over the field using his length and speed to close down on RGV. Just look at his heat map to see how much Lambert was able to cover.

    Meanwhile, Cochran is still the brick wall in the back that has allowed Phoenix to increase their attacking pressure. Cochran leads the team in clearances, blocks, interceptions, and aerial duels won and honestly should be in the Team of the Year if his form continues.
