Ghanian International Solomon Asante joined the team on December 21, and has quickly made his presence known, scoring in a 2-1 preseason victory over the New York Red Bulls in February.  With Week 1 of league play in the books, Asante has now earned USL Team of the Week honorable mention honors.

In the 10th minute against Orange County FC, Billy Forbes sent a solid cross through the middle of the goal box.  Jason Johnson’s charge on the ball drew defenders, and with a nifty dummy-move, he allowed the ball to roll to Asante at the OCFC back post.  Asante’s confident strike opened the scoring books for the 2018 Phoenix Rising FC USL season.
